Meet Ed: Jazz Aficionado, Style Enthusiast, and Soon-to-Be Intern

Meet Ed: Jazz Aficionado, Style Enthusiast, and Soon-to-Be Intern

When you say “Ed,” you can’t help but hear retteketet. Not because he walks around with a trumpet (though he might), but because his personality is just as vibrant and bold as a perfectly placed brass solo. Ed is one of those people you don’t easily forget—whether you meet him in one of our stores or catch him talking about obscure jazz from the southern regions of Japan.

A Love for Music and Style

In his free time, Ed loves to dig through his vinyl collection in search of hidden gems from Japanese jazz bands that rarely make it beyond their local scenes. Think the raw intensity of Ego-Wrappin’ from Osaka, the technical brilliance of Naniwa Express, or the avant-garde flair of the Sakuraza Ensemble from Kofu. But he doesn’t just listen—Ed is also an aspiring trumpet player himself, often practicing with the quiet ambition of someday performing on stage.

From the Classroom to the Clothing Rack

But Ed is more than just a musical soul—he’s also a driven student. He currently studies at TMO Fashion Business School in Doorn, where he dives deep into everything from retail strategy to brand development. Every Saturday, you’ll find him in one of our Ballpark Stores, putting theory into practice. With his sharp eye for detail and genuine interest in people, Ed doesn’t just help customers—he inspires them. Ask him about his favorite shirt or which trousers fit your frame best, and you’ll get a thoughtful, tailored answer every time.

Amsterdam Roots, Ambitious Plans

Ed lives in Amsterdam, where he blends his love for culture, fashion, and music into his daily life. The city fuels his creativity and gives him space to recharge. After summer, he’s taking the next step in his Ballpark journey: starting an internship at Ballpark Studios. It’s a new chapter where he’ll get to explore the creative and strategic side of the brand from behind the scenes. And if his energy is anything to go by, it’s only the beginning of an exciting path.

Want to meet Ed in real life? Drop by one of our stores on a Saturday. Chances are, he’ll be there—trumpet set aside, always ready for a conversation about style (or obscure Japanese jazz, if you’re up for it).
