Theetuin Noot
Just beyond the fortified walls of Weesp and across the Vecht is Theetuin NOOT. This former bastion is located behind a dyke which creates the perfectly tranquil surrounding for a tea garden and restaurant. With a lot of herbs growing in their own garden, they try to use only locally grown ingredients. Drop-by for breakfast, lunch or dinner from March till October or host a larger party year-round for your birthday or wedding!
Somm
SOMM Bistro à Vin is a winebar just across the moat around Weesp, a couple doors down from our BALLPARK STUDIOS office. At SOMM everything they do revolves around wine. With over 250 different wines on their menu they cater the food to fit the wine, instead of the other (usual) way around. They do take reservations but always make sure to keep a couple of tables available so feel free to drop in and see if they have a spot left for you!
Lakoi
Lakoi is the local art gallery and framing studio. In here you can find art from many different artists like Jean Julien, Salvador Dali and Banksy. Besides that they are an expert in making the perfect frame for which ever picture or painting you are looking to hang up on your wall.
Pronk
Pronk is a famliy-run cheese and delicacies shop for over 80 years. In their historic shop on the Slijkstraat, they stock a wide variety of wines, cheeses, bites and nuts. Even if you are not looking to buy anything this shop is worth a visit as it's a greatly preserved interior.
de Eendracht
De Eendracht is an allround establishment in the heart of Weesp; it is a restaurant and pub in-one serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a boutique hotel above the restaurant. Once a month they also host a pubquiz night, in which team BALLPARK competes (read about that here). Definitely a recommendation for a hotel, a meal or a couple of drinks or if you are ready to take us on in a pubquiz!
Petit Clos
A couple doors down from the BALLPARK office is the local Wine shop. With their large and international selection and the helpful staff you will always find what you are looking for, even if you are not sure what exactly it is that you are looking for! They also stock an assorted selection in a cooler, for your last-minute purchases.
Mevrou & Co
Next to Petit Clos you can find our stop for a morning cappuccino; Mevrou & Co. Serving coffees, teas, pastries and both breakfast and lunch it is a perfect stop during your morning of shopping!
Wispe Brewery
During the middle ages Weesp was full of beer breweries because of its location just outside of Amsterdam and access to fresh water from the Vecht river. Because brewing beer would smell really bad and the polluted water of cities it was better to do in small villages. Wispe brewery is a revival of this period in the Saint Laurentius-church. In their Grand Café they brew a multitude of beers and serve them as well as a lunch and dinner menu. Want to learn more about the history of Weesp, the Brewery and the church? Pezzi Pazzi
If you are looking for some reading material, PeZZi PaZZi is the place to be. This quaint bookshop is a perfect place to browse and look around for your next read. Albeit a small shop, they are able to order everything and have it available in a days time.
Boutique Bijt
After finding yourself a nice outfit at Ballpark, Boutique Bijt is a good next stop if you want to treat your significant other to a new clothing item as well. With an international mix of brands, Bijt has a varied selection of curated items.
Nelis
Weesp may be small but is home to one of the best ice cream shops of the Netherlands and Europe; Nelis. If you are looking for a refreshing treat on a hot summers day, Nelis is also located at the Slijkstraat.
Café-Restaurant Aaltje
In 1803 the first Dutch cookbook was made by a woman named Aaltje, who compiled all her recipes into a book. This was seen as the start of the traditional Dutch kitchen. As an homage to this cookbook and Aaltje, this restaurant in Weesp is called Aaltje and gives traditional Dutch meals a modern twist. A perfect place to familiarise yourself with the Dutch kitchen.
