The return of an icon

Chevignon

Some brands never really disappear — they simply wait for the right time to return.Chevignon is one of those names that carries an entire world within it: the sound of leather jackets creaking as you walk, the smell of jet fuel and cold air, the spirit of independence that marked a generation.

Born from the Skies

Chevignon was founded in France in 1979 by Guy Azoulay, a designer fascinated by the style and freedom of post-war American aviators. He began sourcing and reconstructing vintage flight jackets, adding a distinctly French touch — more refined silhouettes, better fabrics, and a sense of understated luxury.

What started as a tribute to the rugged beauty of pilot gear quickly evolved into a cultural phenomenon. By the 1980s and 1990s, Chevignon had become a symbol of effortless cool. Its signature piece, the “Togs Unlimited” leather bomber with the flying duck emblem, was instantly recognizable — worn by artists, travelers, and anyone with a taste for authenticity.

A Brand with Real Soul

Unlike many labels that chased trends, Chevignon always stood for something honest: craftsmanship, adventure, and timeless style. The clothes weren’t about fashion weeks or fleeting statements — they were built to live in, season after season. The brand captured a feeling that’s still rare today: confident without being loud, masculine without trying too hard.

A Modern Revival

After some years out of the spotlight, Chevignon is back, reinterpreting its classics for a new generation while staying true to its roots. The rebirth feels natural: the leathers are as supple and rich as ever, the fits are sharper, and the detailing remains second to none. The brand’s signature bombers, down jackets, and denim pieces still carry that spirit of flight — grounded in nostalgia, yet made for the present.

This return isn’t about reinvention for reinvention’s sake. It’s about rediscovering the balance between ruggedness and refinement. Something the French have always mastered, and that modern menswear often forgets.

Back in the Netherlands

For years, Chevignon was a memory; one of those names you’d hear from someone who “used to have that amazing leather jacket back in the day.” Now, it’s available again in the Netherlands, and we couldn’t be happier to be part of that revival.

At Ballpark, we’ve always looked for brands with a story to tell. Chevignon fits right in. Its mix of heritage, craftsmanship, and quiet confidence mirrors the philosophy behind everything we do.

The Spirit Lives On
